I have a manual pallet jack and can’t seem to lower the forks down?
I have a manual pallet jack. Just went to take it home after using it at a friends house. Loaded it in my pickup sideways. Came home and want to lower the forks down, after hitting the release lever it won’t drop. I noticed the hyrullic somewhat dropping but the forkwheels are locked and leevated. What can be done.

Get a couple of pieces of 2 x 4 – put them so the front and rear wheels are dangling in the air.
See if you can unlock the blocking mechanism.
With it still on the blocks, see if you can jack it up to the maximum height. Remove the blocks carefully and check your release lever again. There is a safety block that you activated when you turned it on it’s side. You might be able to turn it on it’s side again and reverse the the blocking.
It’s a matter of fooling around till you get it – Its been 12 to 14 years since I last fooled with one – it’s not broke !
Be careful and good luck !
Just a hint .. Mine at work the chain would come unattached to wear it releases the fluid.. Mine was just a simple rehook. Look low in the base wear the chain comes out from the handle.. Hope I helped GL
